George Botsford (b. February 24, 1874 , Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA – d. February 1, 1949, New York City, New York, USA) wrote pre-ragtime pieces, then moved to NY City and became part of the cadre of Tin Pan Alley composers as an arranger and composer. He started his own publishing company in 1913-14. He was involved in vaudeville, minstrel shows, a glee club consisting of member of the NY City Police department, and other endeavors. He was a founding member of ASCAP in 1914.
